The holidays are right around the corner which means… CHRISTMAS PARTIES!! Who doesn’t love a good party?
Now, party planning can be stressful (especially during the holidays). In my opinion, there are 5 major necessities to make any Christmas party the best one EVER! Let’s get started!
1) Festive Attire
2) Create a Christmas Playlist
Now, we all know what Apple Music or Spotify is and most of us have a subscription to one or the other. Might as well put it in to good use and make a fun Christmas playlist to play at your party. It’ll get your guests more in the Christmas spirit! Here are some songs I would suggest including in your playlist:
- “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey
- “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms (Yes, the song in Mean Girls)
- “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee
- “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams
- “Joy to the World” by Nat King Cole
3) Decorate, Decorate, Decorate!
Now, everyone knows Christmas is fast approaching when the Christmas lights start to be hung around town. For your Christmas party, indoor and outdoor decorations are a must. Personally, I love white Christmas lights but you can use whatever color you’d like! To get into the Christmas spirit inside, I would suggest having stockings above the fireplace, a Christmas tree (duh!), and a mistletoe. You don’t want to overwhelm your guests with too many decorations though!
4) Food & Drinks
The one thing every party must have is Red Solo Cups. Luckily, they are red to go with the holiday theme! Every party also must need some snacks and, of course, drinks! Cheers! Some holiday snacks that are my personal favorite include Rice Krispie Treat Christmas Trees (even add some green food coloring and sprinkles to make them look more real) or some homemade sugar cookies with decorative frosting. For drinks, my favorite is any brand of hot chocolate mixed with Peppermint Schnapps (alcoholic if you choose) but if not, some regular hot chocolate, eggnog, and hot apple cider would be perfect!
5) Invite Friends & Family
No party is a good one without your favorite guests, right? The holidays are a great time to spend quality time with the people you love! Maybe, to add a twist, add a Secret Santa ahead of time to have at the party too! You want to make sure the guests already have been introduced to each other at some point before the party, so the introductions will be at a minimum. Also, don’t forget to invite people that will get along well which will insure maximum fun at your Christmas party!
Now with that being said…
